Autumn 2010
Flu vaccinations The flu season is nearly upon us, so now is the time to order your flu vaccinations. We can vaccinate your staff ay your premises or alternatively at our clinic, whichever is the most convenient for you. To avoid disappointment please don’t delay ordering your supply of vaccines.
Flu strains change yearly, therefore the vaccines against flu need to change too, meaning that people need to get vaccinated annually in order to be protected.
Yellow Fever Vaccines – (Stamaril®) The Yellow Fever vaccine is recommended for the protection of individuals travelling to or through a country with a risk of contracting yellow fever. Travellers must also have a valid certificate of vaccination (ICVP) for Yellow Fever to enter certain countries where there is a risk of Yellow Fever transmission.
A vaccination certificate for yellow fever can only be issued by a designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. This provides proof of vaccination against Yellow Fever and is valid for 10 years.
What is Stamaril®? This is a vaccine that provides protection against Yellow fever. One dose will provide protection against yellow fever for 10 years. It should be given at least 10 days before travel to allow immunity to develop after primary vaccination. |
